Thornhill Health and Wellbeing Project aims to improve
the health of residents in Thornhill. It is based at
the Healthier Thornhill Centre at 388 Hinkler Road .
It is a friendly and confidential place for residents
who want a quick chat to talk about their problems or
seek advice, to join one of the organised groups or
to have information about other services available.
THAWP offers lots of different activities.

Tuesdays 10.00 a.m. group meets behind Meredith Towers, Tunstall Road
A friendly group of local people who wish to improve
their fitness by walking. This gentle stroll around
Netley Common is a circular route on fairly flat ground.
A great opportunity to look at the wide range of wildlife
on this last remaining piece of heath land in Hampshire.
Open to anyone, free of charge, just turn up!

A great way of increasing mobility and flexibility
for all. Suitable for the less agile. It also helps
relieve stress and is an opportunity to meet new friends
in a safe and sociable environment.

For people concerned about their weight. Great ideas for increasing exercise, healthy eating advice, the opportunity to share recipes and occasional food tasting sessions. There is a weigh-in, discussion and plenty of support.

Do you want to stop smoking? You dont have to do it alone! This service provides a combination of support, information and advice on drug therapies available, a formula that helps people give up and remain a non smoker. This is a FREE and confidential NHS service.

A free service available to anyone living in Thornhill who is 65+ or has a child/ children under the age of 5.
A member of the Thornhill Health and Wellbeing Team
will visit your home, assess the property for dangers
and advise accordingly. Jud, the Handyperson will also
be around to give some helpful advice and to fit safety
gates. FREE items of safety equipment e.g. safety gates,
helping hands and slip resistant mats may be given out
where appropriate.
