The
Thornhill Skills Centre is a new and innovative facility
that enables Thornhill residents to gain vocational
qualifications. The facility boasts a range of accredited
courses and has a number of high quality resources,
including, a construction area, motor vehicle area,
hair and beauty salon and an IT suite. The Thornhill
Skills Centre is primarily for the use of Thornhill
residents who are unemployed and young people in years
10 and 11 of local secondary schools that are interested
in developing existing skills. |

Several
Thornhill adult residents have just commenced a course
in construction and approximately 12 more will undertake
a salon services course in January to enable them to
gain work in the Hair industry. The Thornhill Skills
Centre is providing residents with a well-equipped training
facility accessible to all in the neighbourhood.
