On At Eastpoint! Thornhill
residents are now enjoying the benefits of computer access.
Residents can use computers at two UK Online centres - Eastpoint
and Thornhill Youth Centre. If
you are a Thornhill resident, you can use Eastpoint's computer
facilities in the relaxed atmosphere of the Cyber Café
between 9.30am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. This opens up a range of possibilities. You can, for example, use the online centre to type up your CV on one of the PCs, do your homework, scan and print pictures, access the Internet and get your own email address. You can work at your own pace. Help is available if you need it, and if you’re new to computers, don’t worry – you can learn how to use them while you’re there. It’s
open to all members of the Thornhill community, residents
can use the PCs for Internet and e-mail access any time between
11am and 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. As is
the case at Eastpoint, facilities at the youth centre have
been designed to meet the needs of people who have low information
and communication technology (ICT) skills, or none at all. Both Thornhill’s online centres can help those who use them to develop ICT skills, enjoy the benefits of information and e-mail access and explore the opportunities for further learning and updated knowledge presented by the latest in new technology. The
centres are approachable and have experienced people on hand
to help and cater for individual needs. With
effect from Monday 30th October, the following charges will
apply to all Eastpoint Cyber Cafe users:
- Use of a PC with internet
access = 50p per 20min
- Printed A4 page in black
and white = 10p
- Printed A4 page in colour
= 15p
