The Tenant Involvement Officer is part of Southampton City Council's Tenant Participation Unit. Because of this Thornhill's tenants and leaseholders have lots of different opportunities for involvement - at whatever level suits them so that we can get to hear everyone's views. This can be as simple as a 5 minutes phone call. Below are a few of the ways tenants can get involved. Residents can register their interest by clicking here to go to the sign up form.
Phone Panel – We ring you occasionally for a chat about a housing issue.
Email Panel – We email you for your thoughts about a housing issue.
Discussion Group – You could be part of a small group of tenants/leaseholders looking at issues that affect you and your home.
Policy Group – Help shape and influence the policies that affect you and your home – this group meets regularly.
Reading Group – The group monitors the Council's information leaflets to make sure they make sense and will be read.
Block/Street Reps – This is a role where you represent your street or block to highlight local problems.
Tenant Association – We can advise you how to form or join a tenants group. We can train and support the group to be effective.
Conferences – You can go to different conferences and attend workshops that interest you.
