There are five New Homes sites across Thornhill.

The locations of these site are:

St Coleman's site – between Bursledon Road and Lydgate Road

Warburton Court – between Lydgate Road and the shopping parade

Sheridan/Hinkler Road – Backland, Sheridan Close

Byron Road – junction of Byron Road and Burke Drive

Proctor Close – between Hinkler Road and Tatwin Crescent

The Warburton site now contains six 2 bedroom bungalows with car parking and gardens for general needs ren . The work was completed in December 2008.

Located on the Sheridan site there is 14 houses for general needs rent; eight 3 bedroom and six 3 bedroom homes with car parking, front and rear gardens, communal access and landscaping. The project was completed in October 2009.

Six houses for general needs rent are now located on the Byron Road site. There are two 3 bedroom and four 2 bedroom homes with car parking, front and rear gardens, communal access and landscaping. The work will be complete by January 2009.

Once finished in Summer 2009 there will be four 2 bedroom houses for general needs rent on the Proctor Close site.

There are many Thornhill families currently living in flats who would prefer a house on Thornhill, and some older people who would like to move out of their houses and into bungalows. By building new houses and bungalows we aim to keep the Thornhill community together and help local families move into the homes they want.
