Hinkler Green Improvements - including a new Ball Court

11/01/07 - Flood lighting fitted.

20/12/07 - MUGA completed.

26/09/06 - Start date for work to begin on the Hinkler Green Improvement Site.

02/08/05 – Government Office have now approved the funding for the project.  We are now awaiting for official approval from SCC Cabinet.  The process of selecting a contractor will begin once this has been agreed.

6/07/05 - The Thornhill Plus You Board have agreed the funding for this project and we are now awaiting approval from Government Office before we can proceed with the build.

This project will include general improvements to the Green, such as lit footpaths extending to the Skate Park and the building of a brand new Sport England regulation sized Ball Court or ‘Multi Use Games Area'. The multi-functioning ball court will enable Thornhill residents to play an array of sports including football, basketball, netball and cricket.

A Steering Group for the project has been set-up which includes residents and professionals. This group will look at some of the management issues around the new development such as how the open access Ball Court facility will operate, how we can prevent vandalism and bullying and what time in the evening it should be lit until, taking into consideration all members of the community.
