Grand Opening16th August 2005 |
On 16th August, residents of Thornhill turned out in good community spirit for the opening of the Natterbox community centre on Hinkler Parade.
The centre was officially opened on Tuesday by Southampton Mayor Councillor Edwina Cooke. Councillor Cooke told the Daily Echo, "I am so impressed with this building and all that is going on here. For the people of Thornhill it will be a great place to come."
Councillor Cooke can be seen on the left at the reopening of the Natterbox.
During the last three months the Natterbox has been closed while refurbishments to improve the community centre have taken place. This has included new IT facilities, a children's corner and an extended kitchen.
