Thornhill Plus You's annual gardening competition, Thornhill In Bloom, encourages residents to transform areas in the community into colourful and vibrant ‘green' spaces.

In 2009 judges, Vanessa Hillman, resident and keen gardener and Mike Allott, Groundwork Solent, spent a sunny day in July visiting the entries to decide who should be the green fingered winner of this year's competition.

Vanessa Hillman, Thornhill in Bloom judge said
 “Each year it is harder to choose a winner, I admire all their hard work which makes their environment look colourful for all the community to enjoy. I enjoy being involved and I look forward to Thornhill in Bloom 2010”

All the winners will receive vouchers from Haskin Garden Centre who are also the kind sponsors of the overall winners’ prize. Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in September.
